About Us
My name is William Street and I have been working in the plumbing and heating industry for over 35 years.
I started at 15 when my secondary school allowed me to go to Hammersmith & West London college to study plumbing and welding. Whilst at college I applied to several major companies to start a plumbing and heating apprenticeship and at the age of 15 years old I joined J.H. Shouksmith & Sons based in Park Royal.
I spent one day a week for 5 years at Hammersmith & West London college completing City & Guilds and a further 2 years to gain Advanced City & Guilds qualifications in Plumbing and Central heating advancing to Technician.
I spent 6 years at J.H. Shouksmith & Sons, four days a week on site and one day a week at college. My work consisted of working and learning with highly skilled engineers on domestic and commercial properties mainly houses and apartments.
After 6 years with J.H. Shouksmith & Sons I was offered all plumbing and heating works for 8 huge townhouses in Maida Vale by a private building contractor. I started W.J Street Plumbing & Heating in 1985 and completed the project in Maida Vale, from this project I was offered all plumbing and heating work for another 6 huge houses in Highgate and a further 33 apartments in Malbrook road in Putney by an Architectural firm. I then started employed staff and the rest is history.
We have carried out works from a wide range of clients from private building contractors, estate agents, hotels, architects, schools, crown estates, housing co-ops, local business”s and private household customers.
